Book Recommendation: Tai Chi for Knee Health

Much gratitude to Energy Arts Senior Instructor Bill Ryan for his recent recommendation of my book Tai Chi for Knee Health.

Bill writes,

Chris is a long-time student of our teacher, Master Bruce Frantzis, and established his school, Chicago Tai Chi, a decade ago.

His interest in Tai Chi for knee health is personal— he suffered from chronic knee pain for years before he learned Tai Chi with Bruce.

In the book he shares the lessons he learned in applying Bruce's Tai Chi principles and forms to his own knees, which are now pain free...

This is a book of practice and theory, with an emphasis on practice... Chris teaches you the exercises in an excellent step-by-step manner, starting with simple, basic movements that are core to practice of all Tai Chi styles....Each step includes practical advice for how to better feel, align, and manage your knees as you gradually take on more complicated movements.

You can check out Bill's full book review here.

I'm honored by this praise for my work coming from a deeply experienced teacher and mentor.

Bill has been teaching Tai Chi and Qigong for over 40 years. He founded Brookline Tai Chi, the leading Wu Style Tai Chi School on the East Coast. More recently, Bill and his partner Kathryn Komidar founded Towards Harmony Tai Chi and Qigong, a wonderful school in Northampton, MA. The Towards Harmony team now includes Energy Arts Instructor Dan Winter, a good friend and excellent teacher.

If you are not on Bill's email list, I encourage you to sign up. Bill and his partner Kathryn Komidar put out wonderful free content on Tai Chi and Qigong, including monthly "Chi Tips" with excellent advice on deepening your practice. To sign up for Bill's emails, click here.
