Your Instructors

Chris Cinnamon

Head Instructor

Chris Cinnamon is an exercise physiologist, lawyer, and the Head Instructor at Chicago Tai Chi. He is the author of Tai Chi for Knee Health: The Low-Impact Exercise System for Eliminating Knee Pain (2019) and Tai Chi for Balance: How to Stay on Your Feet and Avoid Falls (2023).

Chris holds a law degree from the University of Michigan, a Masters in Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is certified as an exercise physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine. Chris served in the US Navy, flying carrier-based F-14 Tomcat fighter jets, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Chris has trained extensively under Tai Chi and Qigong Lineage Holder Master Bruce Frantzis.

Chris is passionate about helping his students and clients experience the powerful benefits, and fun, of authentic Tai Chi, Qigong, and Meditation.

Aisling Holt

Instructor

With Aisling Holt, you’ll experience a rare combination of champion martial artist, distinguished scholar, and adept adult fitness coach. A graduate of the prestigious University of Chicago, Aisling’s first martial passion was competitive boxing. Her amateur career included 50 fights and multiple Golden Gloves Championships.
As boxing’s impact took its toll, Aisling sought out a softer art, discovering the flowing disciplines of Tai Chi and Qigong.

Aisling also works with special populations, including Parkinson’s patients, and adults with neurological and cognitive impairments. She is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, with additional certifications in Corrective fitness, Brain Health Training, Glute training, Senior Fitness, and Parkinson’s fitness. 

Students and clients are drawn to Aisling’s bright smile, caring heart, and passion for helping adults discover the powerful health benefits, and fun, of Tai Chi and Qigong.
