Greetings!
I am sharing (with permission, thanks Bill Ryan) an outstanding article on posture for Tai Chi and Qigong (and much of the rest of Life).
In “3000-Year-Old Posture Advice,” Senior Energy Arts Instructor Bill Ryan and his colleague Dan Winter at Towards Harmony Tai Chi explain how and why to position the body in a balanced, neutral, upright posture.
At Chicago Tai Chi, we call this “Neutral Posture.”
As explained in the article, benefits of this posture include:
- Minimizing muscular tension
- Building a biomechanical framework for deep relaxation
- Establishing a structure for improved Qi flow
All fundamental objectives for Tai Chi and Qigong.
In short, to deepen the benefits of your Tai Chi and Qigong practice, attention to posture is key. Standing practice, even a little, can really help.
The article includes a video of Bill and Dan demonstrating the specific postural alignments involved.
For the article and video, click “3000-Year-Old Posture Advice,”
Thanks to Bill and Dan for this high quality content!
Enjoy your practice!
