In Memory of Marvin Cohen, Dedicated Chicago Tai Chi Student and Wonderful Guy

With sadness, I share that Chicago Tai Chi student Marvin Cohen died over the weekend. He had been receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Marvin first joined our classes in 2018 with his wife Patricia. Like many of us, Tai Chi hooked him.

Marvin practiced the Wu Style Short Form, multiple Qigong sets, and, for the last year, had been making excellent progress on the Wu Style Long Form.

I loved having Marvin in class. He was a dedicated student and carried a bright light. His last class with us with just last week. I will miss his good humor, thoughtful comments, and positive energy.

A Chicago native and long-time resident of University Village, Marvin served as Registrar for Columbia College Chicago until his retirement in 2015. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 33 years.

A Memorial Service is in the planning stages. Please let me know if you would like the details when available.
